Hi lads,
I have a problem with my main PC. Every time I try and access the TiG site on IE it returns a HTTP Error 404. Accessing from the laptop is fine. Any ideas on how to fix it?
Neil.

click Start, then click Run and type in ipconfig /flushdns
-
Thanks Gerry.
Tried that but problem still exists. Get message from CMD:
Cound not flush the DNS Resolver Cache: Function failed during execution:
-
Access it on Firefox instead?
-
Dermot,
Trust you to come up with the most complex fix :?:
Tried to access using Firefox and getting the same HTTP Error 404
-
Post the exact url you are entering to get this error.
-
http://www.theirishguard.com/smf/ (http://www.theirishguard.com/smf/)
I have also tried http://www.theirishguard.com (http://www.theirishguard.com)

Laptop and main pc using the same IP mebbe..I dunno strange one.

Dave
Main PC is 192.168.1.3
Lappy is 192.168.1.2
I dont know WTF is happening. I think it started after the TiG site was moved to the new box.

Clear yer cache, try googling 404 error and see what you come up with.
-
Cache cleared and google just throws up stuff relating to Outlook Web access. I can ping the site and tracert all show ok??
-
Try this:
Ping theirishguard.com
put the IP after http://
and enter it that way, and then try by typing
theirishguard.com
-
nice fresh install maybe!
-
syco that won't work with the ip i'm afraid.....
nelix try do ping www.theirishguard.com and see what ip it recon's its pinging, it should be 84.51.234.162.
If its not that would be why the 404 exists and can see why the dns would be old/b0rked....
-
Ian,
thats the right IP address ok.
still nothing????
-
Type in the ip address directly into IE or FF and see what you get.
