Hey guys

Just interested if you think oc my cpu would be a good idea,

seems my cpu might be holding back my system, chris has the same card as me and he is getting on average 30fps more than me.

current cpu is  AMD FX(tm)-8320 Eight-Core Processor 3.5 ghz

windows 7 ( listed for minimum would moving to win 10 help performance possibly )
nvidia 1060 6gb
8gb ram
(no solid state drive)

think i might have got my awnser

http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-7600K-vs-AMD-FX-8320/3885vs1983

currently getting about 50-55fps at best during game but mostly in the 40s on average i think.

not sure i want to spend another 400+ on new mobo cpu and fans etc

It'll always hold you back Abe.  OC'ing it will maybe get you a little bit but you would only be delaying upgrading.

500 will put a decent Ryzen, Mobo and 16gb ram in your case, thats you for years then though.

if you're looking at that bundle have a look a this, its over budget with the ssd (worth it imo) pretty much the same price on ocuk and scan (note the board on scan is a better version swap it with this if you want https://www.scan.co.uk/products/gigabyte-ax370-gaming-k3-amd-x370-s-am4-ddr4-satae-m2-(pcie-sata)-2-way-crossfire-killer-gbe-usb31-g )

why not? similar gaming performance from the processor and a much better motherboard for about 60 quid cheaper than the bundle, the saving nearly pays for an ssd which you will get the biggest benefit from

also for programs like photoshop you're looking at four threads for the Intel vs twelve for the AMD
