...I read an interview somewhere that the guy mentioned it and said they weren't doing it.  :(

It doesn't have to be a flag, it can be a document, or um, a 'secret weapon' in a crate or something that has to be airlifted or put on the back of a jeep, then escorted home.  Would make for some great team/gameplay.

I've played it. It isn't easy to setup and when you do set it up, its pretty crap!
