having some problems
« on: October 11, 2008, 10:08:07 AM »
ok the past few days ive noticed that my pc has been acting up.
when i start the pc the pc will start with all the fans etc and the normal harddrive sounds also but the screen does not show anything then it seems to idle  until i restart it again and then i works fine.

just starting to bug me as i think i fried my last pc by switching it off at the the wall to much.

any ideas what this could be?

getting no errors or anything just a blank screen as if i had never powered up the pc at all.

Have you tried another monitor Abe?
Also chack cable to and from the monitor and gfx card.

What make/model of monitor?  I had a similar problem with one of my Samsung panels, 913N it is, it got worse and worse, in the end I just unplugged the thing and used a different one.

Try it with another monitor as Cully says above... if you still have the problem, at least you can rule that out then and move onto troubleshooting the gfx card/rest of the PC.

yeah i'm pretty sure its gets rid of some of the files that have been added since the last restore date. do maybe backup the stuff u've done since then. I'd say u should have a fairly recent one as it does them automatically unless u disabled it
