I think I'll wait till I get my rig upgraded and for a decent Multiplayer MOD comes along.  Saying that DOD Source should be an excellent game.  I wonder if enough of the TiG community would consider putting a team together for it.

I am Jesus!!!

In other words, I'll ONLY believe it when the actual, non beta game is installed on my PC, and no sooner.

As for San Andres, add 6 months to when the PS2 version came out, and you have a realistic date. Look at previous PS2 to PC conversions for more proof ;)

why r u getting the gold version?? U only get a couple of extra things. All the games u can download freely (except CS:CZ). I just remembered that i didn't include tax and shipping, that gold package is ?113!!! jesus! that a feckin rip off! If i was still  going to be here when it came out i'd wait and buy it on play or somewhere.

Ah yea, but there hardly forcing u to buy it. You can get the game and CS:Source for 30euro. That AND HL1:Source, their entire back catalogue for about 50euro. OR, if ur just a big nut like me, you can get the gold pack.

HalfLife was the first game i ever played on PC (when i was 13). It is the best game i have ever played, and it made a seriously dent in my life as a PC gamer (the one game i could use against all my console playing mates as a kid). Ive been waiting for this game to come out for so long, and now that its here, i have no problem in forking out 50+ extra quid so i can say i bought the gold pack.

The money is going to a Developer, who if it wasnt for their tireless work with both games, changed the face of FPS Gaming (& PC Gaming) and without whom, we wouldnt be at the stage we are at now.

So i have no problem in showering them with cash.
Cos im sure ill get 10times that in joy with this game.

(and i kinda feel bad for playing a hacked copy of the origional, so i sort of owe them)

I've been 'pre-loading' via STEAM because its a cool idea and I have a voucher from ATi.
The idea of bypassing distribution so Valve's own service is class in my book.
I entered my key to get the bronze package and it unlocked CS:Source then and there for me.
Seeing HL2.exe in the corner of the window was beautiful.

Hopefully I'm done pre-loading. 6 phases at about 2 hours each.

If I add a mere $40 to the voucher I get the Gold Pack.
$10 to go up to silver.
I love you ATi.

If I get HL2 via STEAM I won't ever need to fool around with CDs, will I.
Sweet. Hadn't even thought of that.
But do I have to be able to log into STEAM everytime to start it, one wonders.

I didnt get a voucher with my radeon :(

Id lost interest in HL2 cause of the constant soap opera bullsh!t, with code thefts, delays, valve suing vivendi yadda yadda, but all the reviews so far seem really positive, like itll make as big an impact on gaming as the original HL did, so im excited again

Devil, whats CS:source like??

I hosted my own CS:Source server and fooled around on an empty level or two.
Looks a bit better, the physics is subtle and better.
There's glass bottles and barrels to shoot.
Windows break right. Must check out the smoke model.
I just got a buzz out of being that close to HL2.
CS online is a bit wanky so I wasn't gonna bother trying out my l33t sk1llz in Source.

I was being Sarcastic :D. i hope you were too.
Can never tell with you Cork. Too busy givin Gobelljobs if you ask me :P

---------------

I feel for you poor guys who got those vouchers. Must have been before christmass when you got them.

Oh and CS source has had mixed reactions my the CS community apparently. There are a few places where they have door facing the wrong way around, and other little niggles, but their all just looking for sumthin 2 complain about probably.

I was fairly distraught to find out they got rid of the 3 chicks is de_italy, but then i found out, that with the new physics engine you can actually kill people with smoke grenades, simply by fucknig them off someones head :D. But your knives about ladies, smoke kills are the new humiliation.

Hmmmm. Progress :D
