Bear in mind they are useless operating without a team (as one could sneak behind em, and they're easy targets for explosives and not mobile enough), and they are still fully controlled.

While fighting machines may seem like a big step, it is nowhere near terminator as they still need to be controlled. And making computers think on their own is a huge step.

You're not wrong there.  I've been doing Advanced AI in college for the last 4 years and you'd be surprised as to how little an independent computer can do at todays levels!!

AI is far far away from completion
