lan settings
« on: June 26, 2009, 07:01:38 PM »
well ive tried setting a pc up over a lan but i cant seem to access the router or the internet from the pc.

When tryn to view a webpage i get "page can not be found".
and when i try 2 access the router i get "network timeout".

i can access the router via another pc and the router has picked up the new computer as connected via lan cable. so the new pc is connected to the network but it cant seem to do anything lol.

what ave 4got to do?

Is the other PC Vista?

Type ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew. See if the default gateway changes. You trying to access the router by going to 192.168.1.1 at the mo, yeah?

Go into the command prompt, type in netsh winsock reset catalog press the enter button, and reboot your machine when it finishes. Sometimes fixes this.
