Read this here folks !!

Tbh i feel the Irish commuinity playing online within Battlefield has died away big style within the past years. For those that remember the vietnavan days on bfv and DC earlier was an experiance remembered for the craic had and the good games had (remember thats where this clan came from).
So i propose we try and revive this.

Not putting Tig down...but we have died a death since Bf2 has been in full flow and im sure we are not the only clan...its well known
So i propose we get a mass commuinity gathering at least once a month for battlefield like back in those vietnavan days.
If an irish clan can be weak .then by fook i'll let an irish commuinity be weaker.
and if im wrong then by fook its time for me to try this WoW or countersrtike thing again
What do you say ???
Any ideas or thoughts ,pm me or mail me on sturgezulu@hotmail.com

thats 5 serious posts in a week, arnt i turning into the mature one

I dont think "Irish" clans has ever taking of. I joined a clan years ago OFP days and we would have a blast and the clan leader was Golard who's still on the scene but doesnt do anything with clans anymore.
If i wear to join a clan the first id pick is TIG because there the only BF2 Irish clan i no of. But ever time i come here i have felt its being a bit dead lately.

If you mean as a competition clan then you would be fairly right.  BF2 is a great fun public game.  Its not so good as a clan game and thats what is killing the clan scene.

As a clan at the moment we are really more about fun and friendship more than anything.  We've been playing loads of more different games.

Theres a few playing WOW, a few who are into RTS, and a few who like their FPS games.  As we own our own server, bought and paid for, we can pretty much run what ever game we like on it.  Recently we've been running a Hidden server, class game.

Best person to ask is Wavey or Joe, both new members though Joe is really really new.

Sounds cool. ATM, I'm trying to get BF42 to run without any machine lag (I get extreme machine lag) on my 64bit rig. Why? So that I can play Desert Combat. Old Skool style, baby 8)

would you not just run win xp 32bit? so much less effort, and you'd have to run all your games in 32bit more anyway...

Everything else works in 64bit. I've talked to other about this, and they've said that BF42 works grand on their 64bit rigs, so once I figure it out, so will I.

Without pointing any fingers here, this time 6 months ago TiG had 3 ranked servers running and 2 were often pretty full.

are they now empty because TiG members themselves stopped playing on them meaning that it was harded to get the magic 8 people to start the ranking? Did too many other Irish players join other Irish/UK clans and dilute the amount of Irish players over too many half-empty servers?

And something that's not exactly related but I couldn't be bothered to start a new thread...

The server that you offered to Boards.ie (i.e. let boards members such as myself mod) was great fun and often fun for about 2 weeks. Any idea why it died?

It stopped getting used.

When a server stopped getting used, it gets removed and one that is used is put in it's place.

It's the way of the servers.
