Just seen a very interesting presentation around the on-live gaming platform. HD gaming on your TV without the need for a console. Game can also be access from either MAC or PC. Very interesting proposition.

Its a total load of crap Neilx, is this something BT is pushing? It'll work for casual type games but nothing better than that.

Tried Metro2033 and Hawx2 on it a few days ago, very nice menu UI, slightly laggy due to location of their servers I presume, but entirely playable if there was some servers in the UK or ireland.
I especially liked that I could spectate other peoples games, appeals to the voyuer in me :P
My advice is download it and have a go! Might work better for people with moar broadbands than I.

Yes, BT have a stake in the company and are looking at rolling it out here within the next year. I seen a live demo and it was very impressive. Dont think it will dent xbox/PS3/PC Gaming in any big way but it is another option without outlay for consoles etc.

So basicly you would be able to play PS3 type games with something along the lines of a Wii? Think this sort of thing came out for the PC; to allow you to play Citirx or BF:BC2 on an old PC. Nice idea, but the lag would really go against you. Think it bombed.

Think that you will need to have at least 3-4meg connection with dedicated QoS before the service would be offered out. There is also an option to buy a small Onlive box that connects to your TV and you can stream 720p HD games directly.

If it had a nice codec, it may do a good job. Hope it pans out well.

It's a great idea if you have the connection to support it. Def worth a play to suck it and see as they say.
