Replacement mouse feet....
« on: August 25, 2005, 02:17:55 PM »
Just in case anyone's in the same boat as I was, I use an mx700 wireless optical mouse, and recently I noticed the 5 'feet' were getting worn away, leading to the mouse dragging... I tried everywhere for replacement feet, but apparently you can't get them... Then I came across 'Mouse Skatez'.... It's basically little strips of teflon tape that you put over the mouse feet... It's the dog's b****x.... Mouse glides perfectly now... Got it from everglide.co.uk if anyone's interested, around a fiver for two strips...

Hi,

i can second that. i used them in extension to the usual glide strips on my old cable mouse. Best thing is that if they break you can replace them simply again..

I used to use a cloth one, but I prefer the hard pad, just find the mouse drags too much on a cloth one.

You can also buy the Contact paper from hardware shops. I have it in black with a wood effect absolutely super for my MX1000 mouse! :salute:

How do you find the mx1000? I've been tempted to get one but have seen a few negative comments about them for gaming use...

its ok, mine just has a little bug..

like once every 20 minutes it moves the cursor down halve screen :(

else - nice mouse, good performance, not heavy, good sensor and it can be without ac power for 2-3 days

Check out the Mx518 pongo.  The 1000 is undoubtedly a very nice mouse but the sensitivity adjustment on the 518 is very handy in BF.

Just had a look at it there on Logitech's website... Looks nice....
I can feel yet another totally unnecessary purchase coming on...  :D

I have an MX500 lying idle because the 518 is so much handier :)

Trust me, this mouse is one purchase you won't regret, especially if you like hopping in and out of vehicles in BF.
