Title: TIG CHAT ROOM

WOULD IT BE POSS 2 GET A TIG CHAT ROOM, SET UP  ON THE FORMS WINTERS  WITH OUT ANY ACCESS RIGHTS SO SCHOOL FIRE WALLS DNT PICK IT UP AS CHAT.

AS IRC AND ALL MSN AND YAHOO ARE BLOCKED!

Did you try a web irc client? There should be a few about if googled.

Arent there Web-IRC access points. i dont know of any myself, but a mate of mine sed he could get around restrictors by logging onto java-type irc sites.

I found one with a quick Google but it wouldnt let me get onto Quakenet.

If you find one you will need it to connect to the following:
server: irc.quakenet.org
channel: #tig.ie

I might try and setup a Java based IRC client somewhere sometime. Only problem is I cant test it out on Longhorn as I've no Java support at the moment.

[edit]You could try going through a proxy server. I kow DCU has one but I'm not sure if you can run IRC through it. Lads on Rez were having a problem with that last year. Though I think they fixed it going through the Redbrick server or getting a trust or somesort.
