Some new (http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/200506221/index.html) gear from NVidia is about to hit the shelves. Expect cards that currently cost $250+ to drop in price by 25-33% by autumn.

Gonna wait for ATI's 24 pipeline cards I think.

Have an Asus x800 on order.
It's always a crap time to buy a gfx card. There's rarely a win with PC hardware.

Totally agree Luc.

There's never a golden time to buy as gfx cards will always depreciate very quickly, but buying right before a huge price drop is surely a worse time than most.
Don't worry Luc your x800 will still put ours to shame for months yet :D

Yeah, of all the cards to buy, X800 looks a pretty good value buy atm.
The new 9800 of this generation possibly.
Price is one thing, staying powre is another.
And ATi has been doing well in that department.

JES (http://www.jes.de/) now have PNY branded 256mb 6800GT AGP cards available for ?239, down from the 330-360 euro mark a week or two ago. Expect other NVidia brands to follow suit on pricing soon, and ATI brands to respond shortly after.
It'd nearly make a person want to pick NVidia over ATI... Nearly
