While researching it i read articles saying it has 4 times the performance of your average 8800GTS.
Since my bros old card was an 8800 GTS i was looking for articles comparing the 2 cards.
Having seen his new card in action i can vouch its atleasat 4 times the performance of his old 8800.

Correct me if im wrong but i think the card Grim linked is Nvidias answer to ATIs 4780 series?

From what i can gather it outperforms the ATI 4780, thus making it more than 4 times the performance of your 8800 GTS mate :)
So yes its a big upgrade.
Im tempted myself but as yet i havent found a game that cant i cant run at 1920X1080 maxxed out with FSAA and AA etc with my current rig.
I too have an 8800 at the moment.

That seems a hell of a bargain tbh.

I really should have pushed the boat out a bit more when i wad getting it and at least got 512mb. Ohwell. I reckon I will most probably go for this one now. Should last me for a good while without having to upgrade again too soon

The way I saw it was a card that had maybe 44 pointes less (http://"http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/gaming-graphics-charts-q3-2008/3DMark06-v1-1-0-3DMark-Score,794.html") than the 280, at nearly half the price.

Saying that, the 280 at ?250... which is basically ?275 ain't bad. May have gotten that if the price was right at the time.

As for the drivers, ATI pwns nVidia, esp on my 64bit XP system.

So i'm going to be selling other old gfx card. Anyone know the best place to try and sell it. Was looking at adverts.ie but thats only really for collection only as how else do u get the money?
