Title: Is it best to get a Single RAM card or x2?
Post by: [TiG]Jack on June 30, 2014, 06:32:52 PM
I'm just buying the last parts to my computer and I've found out it is cheaper to buy 1 8GB RAM card rather than 2 4GB, I'm just wondering is it better to have 2 4GB RAM or is it ok to have 1 8GB?

Dont buy from Amazon for a start, stick with some of the better known suppliers, Overclockers, Dabs etc etc.  Grim is best to answer this, he knows best.

I checked out on overclockers and this week only the graphics card I want is down in price and I went for the x2 4GB RAM because it over all is cheaper by ?4 (inc Postage&Packaging) so saving a little bit of money and I assume 2 RAM cards are better than one.

It's ok to have a 1 8GB module, might be better in the long run if you decide to get a second one.  To make sure it's good, check a review and a comparison of it first before purchase.

I'm just across the border for any southies ordering from the UK etc and getting stung by delivery prices.  You can have it delivered to me if you need to at any time.  Always keep an eye on Overclockers for all parts.

pc part picker is a pretty good oversight website. I think the two suppliers I used were scan.co.uk and I can't mind the other one.
