q's about your server(s) setup
« on: July 07, 2005, 01:13:41 PM »
hey all,

i was just wondering what sort of setup you guys had for your dedicated server(s) - i.e. do you use hosting 365?
if so with what options & how much are they charging you?
how many machines etc are you using?
did you have to buy a seperate copy of bf2 for the dedicated server?
[if you dont mind sharing that info]

cheers!

Employee option and spare server :)
We are purchasing our own atm, and will have other game servers up soon.

Just the one atm, soon to be two, see above.

No, there's a downloadable unranked server that can be installed anywhere.

No problem :)

If you would like to have a ranked or unranked BF2 server, servers365(same as h365) are doing them soon, not sure on the price, you can contact the sales guys @ sales@servers365.ie or call the number on the site @ www.servers365.ie

can one machine only run one instance of a bf2 server?

employee of 365 eh?
if i rent a dedicated server - do i have external admin access to the machine? could i start a dedicated teamspeak server or a dedicated server for another game?

i just found TiG today - so i think i'll be bumming around your public servers tonight...is there a public teamspeak channel so i can get to know you guys? or do you use the in game voip for the public servers?
nehoo - if you see me, join me squad or invite me to join yours, i'm sick of playing it as an ffa - which your kind of stuck in if you don't have voice of some sort.
course if you dont want to talk you can just put a bullet between me eyes! :P

Here's the TS info :

games3.iol.ie:8787

VOIP isn't used a whole lot from what I can see but there's usually someone on TS (though not always playing on the same server as you!) :)

server365 do ranked BF2 servers too.  completely dedicated, managed servers, you can't download ranked server software.  You only have BF2CC access to ranked servers.

Unranked servers allow you full access to the machine to run whatever you like on it, within reason like :)

contact sales@servers365.ie for prices etc.

Aye, drop onto our servers and TS for a game, chat to yah later.

you need to enter in the IP address as servers with [ in the name aren't showing up in the ingame browser.
