Need a new graphics card. wanna play bf3 :(

psu came today. Any tips on taking my old one out and puttin this one in?

Also any tips on static electricity?

Switch it off. Pull the power cord out, press the "on" switch 3 times, to ensure there's no power at all left. Touch a wooden table or something, to ensure you have no static on ye.

the two connectors originally connected to my motherboard were the normal 2x10 one and this other 2x2 one......


...the new power supply doesnt have a 2x2 one. it was 2    3x2 ones with 2  2x1  connectors.

also make sure you have at least one of these on your psu

I Have two of them on my newly bought one. But none on my old one. The old one had a 2x2 mini slot on the motherboard, which i dont know what it is for.

Does this mean my new psu is useless? lol

ok all installed and well. But i got another Black Screen crash.
I'm having a look through stuff on my computer and found that there was a yellow sign beside a 'PCI Device'  in 'Other Devices'  on my device manager.

It's saying that.
"The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver."

when i click update driver, it attempts to find the driver online and does nothing but say:
"windows could not find driver software for your device
If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software."

Im on the site but am finding very little.

Delete the PCI device, close the window (the window, not Windows7 itself) and install the driver that you have downloaded from the website (and/or that you got on the CD, but you should install the latest stable driver that you can get).

The thing is, I dont actually know what driver I have to download.

Looking at its properties I have,

Device Description : PCI Device
Location Paths : PCIROOT(0)#PCI(0A00)#PCI(0400)
Physical Device Object Name :  \Device\NTPNP_PCI0023
location information :  PCI bus 1, device 4, function 0


The Install date is the 3/3/2012. which was the day I put my newly psu in.
Maybe its something to do with that?

Do you have a "Texas Instruments SD card reader" installed? Did you plug anything out from the motherboard that is connected to the PC case, and then plug it in again?

No I don't think so. Searched computer and programs and was not there.
And the only things I plugged out was the cables belonging to the psu, and of course the fan plug, but i reconnected it fine.

What sort of power connection does it have? It should have a 6 pin or 8 pin (or both) connector for power...

I have absolutely no idea if i do have a card reader or not. sorry im useless.

Right, so my graphics card is so terrible is has no power connecters. which means that my new psu isnt doing anything different to it haha.
That has to be the answer to my problem.
