Well after listening to Grim badgering me all evening I've opted to buy the game. Theres a pretty balanced review at
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1021149
One thing I liked was that friends can party up and then look for servers together, that pretty much keeps me happy for MP so I cant see any reason not to buy it. Its not like we would need a dedicated server for clan matches or anything.

Im loving it on the 360 , since you lads are getting into it on PC i might just get it for pc too
Yeah Fairy i agree tbh, all you need is the ability to form a party and game with mates.
Unless your into it competitively the matchmaking system is more than enough.

Speaking of modernfailbag...most addictive mp for me since cstrike i'd say
lack of dedicated servers ftw, copying the trueskill matchmaking from xbox makes it far more fun to play by yourself

Aye I agree. Game play is fucking mayhem in CTF and is seriously fast, though the tactical shields make me want to cry. As for lag etc I really havent seen any since the first day I got it.
Theres an odd little hiccup when finding games, but again its by no way show stopping. Also I think there is a game mode that allows you to form a party and join the same game session but be on different sides, Mercenary Team Deathmatch.

Matchmaking on the 360 has always been great, the pc version works the very same
As ive said over on boards who needs dedicated servers tbh?
Maybe the uber competitive guys but apart from them [they are a tiny minority tbh] matchmaking works a treat.
Im off to Liverpol in a few days ill pick up pc MW2 when i get back.
Meantime im loving it on the 360, surprising how playable it is once i got used to the pad all over again.
Some guys on it would give the best mouse users a run for their money.
Im managing 20-40 kills in a 10 -15 min map which is more than enjoyable
