HL2: episode one freezing alot

So as the title says. i just got this and have been playin it away, but it keeps freezing up randomly all the time. It happens mostly at the parts where u have to load. it just sticks. Also just happens in random location, freezes and loops whatever part of a sound was playing at the time. Very annoying as most of the time have to reboot. Never had any probs like this when playing HL2? any ideas on whats causing it or a possible fix?

not a clue suppa, could be overheating?  try monitoring temps and see if it;s that.,
