In order to chck your path to the tig server:
Start -> Run
Type in "cmd" without the quotes dummy.
In the DOS prompt type in:
"tracert 82.195.135.118" without quotes and watch the traffic bottlenecks reveal themselves.

From the trace Devil did, all his information goes from Bulmers Land to Paris then back to Dublin to get to the TiG server. No reason for it, jsut some bad routing on behalf of the service provider. I remember with Irish Broadband, if you did a tracert to eircom.net it would go all the way through NewYork.  :?

Can I get a bit of help with this?

I appear to be dropping between 2% and 6% of my packets when I ping TiG and I think this is what is causing my sync errors with servers in Nam.
Ignoring my minimum ping of 100ms, this error stuff makes games absolutely and unquestionably unplayable.

I know it is my ISP and I've been talking to one of the biggest people within the Chorus NMC that deals with modems.
He knows nothing whatsoever about games and has come back to be with some questions.

Quote

Ar you telling me that the ping latency within the game is bad even though these pings are ok?  I am not a gamer myself so I have no first hand experience with this but I can appreciate it is frustrating to have it happen, however the main thing is to find out why this is happening.  If there is issues with the cable bandwidth then I can do something about it but if it is purely game server related then it will be a grey area.
  Can you find out from the game hosts how they handle traffic that is too fast / too slow, how do they balance the experience of their users, what is their policy regarding broadband connections.  If they come back to you will you foreword it to me and we can see if we can get a handle on it.

The info I gave him was tracert and extensive ping tests to TiG, 77CrEw and TS server.
All ping iffy and drop a certain % of packets.
I'm really looking at an answer to both educate him and move him past this question.

He's no tard but as he sees it, the pings are ok, loss is acceptable and d/l rates are fine so I'm the only one complaining and using my inside contacts from working in Chorus to reach him.
