why are new posts not showing up as yellow for me any more?

They appear to be working perfectly well for me here.
Does it appear to all posts in the forum or just the ones in the private or public section etc?

It wasnt working ealrier. I had meant to ring support but forgot :lol: . Its working again now anyway.

Still appears to be working fine for me.
Ive alrady got it marked on a fix list for RedBed v1.2 along with some RSS tweaks, calendar fixes and changes, a could of forum fixes, [hopefully] a new paging script. Oh yes, and a downloads section.
Im still working hard at this, dont you worry.

at last someone else has the problem too. I've had this problem for a bit. When can we expect redbed v1.2?

The New Post problem has been happening an aweful lot recently for no real reason. It appears to happen at random times and then can fix itself for a while.
Ill take a look into it tomorrow and midweek and see if I can get anything sorted.
I'm hoping to have RedBed updated to 1.2 during this week, possibly Wednesday. I have about 60% of the Downloads section (Codename WhiteCircle) done. All thats left is a few tweaks and the admin section for it. I want to have this new posts problem fixed in 1.2. The problem aint with my code but is with the phpBB system so I'll try and hack the code myself and see what I can find. I also want to made some changes to the caledar design for 1.2 and also have some small bug fixes done aswell.
No later then Friday for initial 1.2 :)
That is providing i find the time between Beers tonight, Naked Ladies on Sunday and other appointments during the week. My god I'm busy

This isn't the problem I saw mentioned before, I think.
Nothing is EVER down as a new post ever, first login or not.
There is no 'new post' system for us and on the section of the page that says the number of new posts/threads since last visit, it always says none.
The recent active threads list on the homepage is the only way to know what's happening.
Before if you log out and back in everything was set to read.
That was a PHP thing alright. In programming terms its a 'feature'.
This new thing is seriously fooked up.
I tried logging out and back in, no good. Could it be a cookie issue?
Is there anything we can do to try unbreak it?

I believe I got all the clan-tig cookies and re-logged in but there's no difference.
Its Firefox v1.0.

yeah mine still doesn't work. Like a few weeks ago the posts would show up new when i came on and when i would go into a forum and come out then they would all be marked read. Then it started just showing the forums that had new posts but when i would go in it wouldn't have them marked as new, and now(and for the last week or so) it doesn't show any new posts at all.

is anybody else still having this problem? The new posts link on the main page works if i just click the different links individually

i had this problem 2 so I clicked new posts link and saved it to my favourites.I just go to that page 1st instead of the home page 1st,shows all new posts now.

Yeah, Shadow (I think) came up with a semi-workaround where your first TiG page is the forum.
Starting on the home page and then going forum seemed to fool it into losing new posts.

I modified the code on the frontpgae last week which fixed the problem for me. I just go to the front page and click on the "New Posts" link below the forum and i get the new posts.
