Ok lads I'm having to start and think of a new build.
I already have AMD FX8320 Black Edition 8 Core CPU that I picked up recently. I need Mobo, Ram, PSU, 1gb HD and GPU, and potentially a case.
I always aim for best bang for buck, so am thinking of around the ?400 mark?
Anyone any ideas, would like to buy through overclockers if possible.

I know you hate boards, but the lads (esp Bloodbath) at PC Building & Upgrading (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=842) have put together some very nice rigs (that, and I haven't looked at much hardware for a while).

Well Rob I tweaked it a wee bit. I like the AMD stuff for some reason, and as playing at 1680 X 1050 I dropped the card back a wee bit, should still stomp over most games though.

Yeah, considering I play at 1680X1050 that card should be a stonker!!! I know the 8320 is Overkill for gaming, but Criostoir might be doing rendering etc as part of his course and it s a great chip for that.

Well assuming PSU. Was on machine last night and it instantly powered down, no blue screens, or errors etc.
Changed out kettle lead and when I powered on it started for a split second and then off again, unplugging the lead and plugging back in will do the same again. Have an RMA from OC for the PSU, but should I consider the Mobo before sending back?
I'll try another PSU asap.

most new mobo's will have surge protection build in i think, worth trying a different psu first

Rob changed out the PSU and put a 600w one in, machine starts up now, all fans start etc, but no output to monitor. I'm thinking that the Mobo is gone, and that maybe the other PSU wouldnt start becasuse of it?
If I want to return both, as I cant discern where the fault is, will they charge me for the one that isn't faulty? A bit pissed off by this!!!

Did you try a different Gfx card to confirm no output? maybe if the psu did go it's taken the gfx card with it, worth trying
For returns set up an rma with them explaining what the craic is and what you've tried to sort the problem, I'm pretty sure you only need to pay for the shipping back to them

There's no GPU output, but no power getting to keyboard and mouse etc as well.
