aright chunks, i'm pretty much getting the same machine. Should be getting it VAT free too :) Changes I made r:

Memory 1024MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x512)

9 cell battery

General question: Is it really worth it to have 2GBs of ram or is that now overkill? DO u really need it and will it actually give u much of a performance boost?

Either that the Alienware Area-51? m5790 from the states cuz i'm heading there in the middle of feb. Going to get it shipped to a mates house. Anybody thing i should have any problems?

2gig of ram is definitely not overkill.

As for getting it back into the country not sure about that but you May have to prove that you brought it over with you(all depends on if you get stopped and who stops you) and if you cant and they think you bought it over there be prepared to pay vat and any other tax they can think of....someone with more travel exp to the states may be able to advise you better.

it arrived!  Man it's hoooge!

I don't think i'll be able to make the LAN on the 10th, we're playing Belvo in the AIL league that day and i've a feeling i'll be sore afterwards.....  If i didn't have a game though i would have driven up with me new satnav, ah well, maybe during the summer  :|
