Title: [TiG.03] Project "Red Bed"
Post by: [TiG]Winters on October 18, 2004, 05:56:57 PM: Ok folks, Winters here, your sexulant web whore to the extreme. Work today has started on project "Red Bed". Project "Red Bed" is infact TiG.03 or the next incarnation of the TiG website. Layout, designs and etc. are being finalised on at the moment and a overall template should be completed in the next 48hours hopefully (My health pending).

So far, on que for "Red Bed" is a totally new design, a lot better then the basic one we have at the moment. It shall encorporate the forums and servers more into the homepage aswell as creating a new core of people, a dedicated "TiG News Crew" who will have the ability to add news items to the frontpage etc. Aswell as a total rejigging of the forums (those big black buttons MUST be changed)

Also, the face shall be staying ... unless any of you have problems with it. Maybe we should setup a competition to name the face.

Anyway
What I wish to know from you bunch is what would you like to see on the new site? What new features, what changes to existing shite etc.

What would be really cool would be a way for the Tig.Server to output its results to a web page on this site. So we can watch matches as they happen. Not sure if this one is possible.

A must have is a TiG Calendar so we can see at a glance what is happening.

When we have a clan or friendly match we should have something like a clock timer or a stopwatch to show long many days/hours/mnutes are left untill we play them.This would be a good reminder to every1 and it looks the business 8)

Post by: [TiG]Winters on October 19, 2004, 10:26:42 PM: Some items about the forums. Ignore the style/skin as its only running the default "Subsilver" skin and not the "TiG.03" skin. Mostly because I havent made the skin yet.

These show some of the new features. Most of these new features can be seen in the extended and more detailed Profile for each user. This includes subscribed threads, buddy list, friends list and also ignore lists. With the added Profile you can now also see more information about users in their posts .. eg: their location, their online/offline status [little dot] etc.

The Calendar is a totally new addition aswell. You can only see it shows the weeks items aswell as birthday's for users. This can be hidden or shown by clicking the "Calendar" link on the right. You can also get a more detailed calendar view which will list the month, week etc. and allow you to browse for events.

Also some more information. At the moment with the major changes to the Database there is a strong possiblity that everything will be lost and we shall start fresh. Any thoughts on starting out fresh?

The red background will be changeable for each user to please Data's constant moaning about not having a blue background. The links shall still be jiggled around to suit the layout etc.

This site will infact be based around the forums, the forums will be the main part of the site.

I am still undecided about having the link down the left or across the top tbh ... I might come up with another design tomorrow.

the banner is just there to take up space and won't be there in the finished one.

Yeah it looks nice winty :)

i dunno about the fresh start though. Can u not just do all yur stuff and then put in the backed-up files?

Post by: An1m4l on October 20, 2004, 07:05:39 PM: lol..in seriousness tho the sites cool as it is, the ony suggestion id make would be to have a couple of more features, as it is its kinda just like a main page, with forums. Dont ask me what features you could add but...i dunno, something good!

Oh and the banner should be more exciting, the face is cool, but throw in an explosion or something from a BF screenie :D

sTill all the forum coding and templating to go, aswell as all the static pages. The forum is really the heart of the site so thats going to be the frontpage pretty much.
